A little about me

I'm Alice. I'm a nurse and an artist based in Liverpool, UK.

I am originally from Oxfordshire and moved here to complete my nursing degree.

I now work as an oncology nurse. I absolutely love it, but it can be emotionally draining. Painting has always given me joy. For me it is escapism. From a very young age, I would sit and draw for hours, completely enveloped in my own world.

I use painting to cope with emotions, with my abstract paintings often reflecting my day to day struggles with anxiety, and the emotional turmoil of my job as a nurse.

My nude art, on the other hand, reflects celebration and empowerment. My paintings use bright colours and expressive brush strokes to celebrate the female form. I am commissioned regularly to paint other women. In my next blog post, I will discuss the inspiration behind my nude art, including my long struggle with Anorexia Nervosa.
